It would be most helpful for some instructional focus on hinders during doubles. There is a multitude of opinions regarding how much of the court must be given up or retain by the defensive players during a rally that would constitute a hinder.
Both defensive players must give shooter the ability to hit down-the-line and cross court shots. If either player is in the way of these shots, then a hinder can be called. Also, both members of a team have a right to get to the ball to return it, so defensive players must move out of the way for one or both offensive players to get to the ball.
